Our story

Reach Out was created by a small group of dedicated mothers, perhaps much like yourself. They were brought together by a common vision for the educational needs of their children. Some were looking for an educational program that could offer their children access to the ideas, teaching philosophy, and methodology that matched what they had experienced while living abroad. Others were looking for an internationalized curriculum that their children could access to enrich their educational experience in China. What they shared in common was a desire for a rigorous program that also opened the doors to creative and critical thinking, self-reflection, and personal expression - the hallmarks of a strong international curriculum. After spending considerable time exploring various options, these moms were not able to find anything that quite met their children’s needs.

Så, they did what any good mother would do, given the chance, och found their own way to offer their children the best possible learning opportunities designed to help them thrive. They consulted expert teachers and worked with other parents to discover how they could best meet the needs of other children with similar goals.
It was then that Reach Out was born.

We choose teachers who hold a Master or Doctorate degree in the subject they teach, and who have successfully taught hundreds of students throughout the years. They understand what students need to achieve to a high level in the world’s most rigorous academic programs.

Seb
Engelska lärare

Herr. Seb tog examen från INSEEC MBA Institute, en av världens ledande handelshögskolor, med en magisterexamen i finans. Han har stor erfarenhet av att undervisa i engelska, Historia, Geografi, Engelsk skrift och engelska standardiserade tentamensförberedelser. Med över 16,000 timmars undervisningserfarenhet vid universitet och internationella skolor i 5 länder, inklusive Shanghai Japanese School, International School of Toulouse i Frankrike och Zhejiang University, han har undervisat ett brett spektrum av studenter från gymnasie- till universitetsnivå. Seb tycker om att skapa meningsfulla relationer med sina elever, och injicerar humor i varje lektion för att främja dessa relationer och göra hans klasser roliga.

David
Matte lärare

David S. har en M.Sc. från University of British Columbia, Kanada, och var den yngsta och en av de mest eftertraktade föreläsarna vid universitetet innan han gick med i Reach Out. Han har publicerat en mängd olika arbeten i vetenskapliga tidskrifter. Han har utvecklat läroplanen i Vancouver i flera år och undervisar i SSAT, SAT, AP, IB, biologi, kemi, fysik, matematik och naturvetenskapliga kurser. Förutom engelska, han talar tyska, svenska och kinesiska. Han har en rolig och glad undervisningsstil och inspirerar sina elever med sin passion.

Andy
Konsult

Herr. Andy tog examen från University of St Andrews och Newcastle University och har arbetat i den internationella utbildningsbranschen i nästan 10 år, med lång erfarenhet av vidareutbildning och utlandsstudier. Han är mycket bekant med universitetsantagningssystemen i både Storbritannien och USA och var antagningsansvarig för alumner för sin alma mater, University of St Andrews i Storbritannien, i 2016 och 2017. Han har hjälpt hundratals elever från olika utbildningssystem (AP, En nivå, IB) att ansöka till toppuniversitet i Storbritannien och USA, inklusive Ivy League-skolor i USA och G5-skolor i Storbritannien. Han kan planera gymnasiekunskapssystemet för elever utifrån deras förmågor och styrkor, så att de kan bygga vidare på sina styrkor och undvika sina svagheter i processen för vidare studier och uppnå sina mål på det mest effektiva sättet.

Kelly
Grammatiklärare

Ms. Kelly är grammatiklärare på Reach Out. Hon tog examen från University of Queensland i Australien med ett TESOL-utbildningscertifikat. Det har hon 10+ års undervisningserfarenhet och är specialiserad på att undervisa barns engelska, allmän engelska för gymnasieelever och provförberedelser. Ms. Kelly är mycket erfaren, och har undervisat över 500 studenter.

Lilja
Engelska lärare

Dr. Lily tog examen från Harvard University med en kandidatexamen och University of Georgia med en doktorsexamen i kreativt skrivande, och är mottagare av John Harvard Scholars, som delas ut till toppen 5% av studenter. Hon har arbetat på Northwestern University, rankad 15:a i världen, och har undervisat i engelska och humaniora på The Nueva School, nr. 1 offentlig skola i San Francisco Bay Area, sedan 2014. Hon är en mentor, akademisk coach och ämnesexpert som har inspirerat många studenter, och har hjälpt flera studenter att framgångsrikt söka till Stanford University.

Herr. Lan
Fysikalärare

Herr. Lan tog examen från ett prestigefyllt universitet i USA med en kandidatexamen och en magisterexamen, huvudämne i finansiell matematik och inriktning på matematiska och statistiska ämnen och fysik. Han har arbetat som akademisk handledare vid större utbildningsinstitutioner i USA och Kanada, och ansvarar för handledning och förbättring av gymnasieelevers och studenters prestationer i naturvetenskapliga ämnen. Han har också hjälpt flera Ivy League-studenter att gå över från School of Social Sciences till School of Business.

Daniel
Engelska lärare

Daniel has nearly 30 års erfarenhet av undervisning. He is a licensed teacher, and has a Master’s Degree in Humanities from San Francisco State University. In addition, Daniel holds multiple certificates in education, which illustrates his commitment to lifelong learning. Daniel has worked in top schools in Shanghai and understands the needs and goals of high-achieving students and has a proven track record of helping them achieve great results.

Lucas
Math/ IELTS Teacher

Herr. Lucas has a Double Master’s Degree in Finance and Business Analytics from Johns Hopkins University and has been working in AP Calculus and IB Math for over six years, with an average student score of 4.7 in AP Calculus and 6.5 in IB Math. He specializes in teaching mathematical statistics, big data analysis, academic essay writing, and business presentations. He has a personal GMAT score of 710 and an AP Calculus BC5.

Alice
Engelska lärare

Ms. Alice tog examen från Liverpool John Moores University i Storbritannien med en kandidatexamen i engelska och kommunikation. Hon har mer än 5 års erfarenhet av undervisning, med ett TEFL-certifikat och arbetar för närvarande som engelsklärare i en internationell skola i Shanghai.

Aileen
Engelska lärare

Ms. Aileen has a Master's degree in TESOL Education from the University of Bristol, UK, and a Bachelor's degree in English Education. She has extensive experience in teaching English in a variety of teaching styles, specialising in designing teaching that is appropriate for developing students' thinking skills and strengthening their English foundation. Her teaching philosophy is to focus on developing students' English thinking logic so as to really improve their English language skills.

Herr. He
Matte lärare

Mr.He is a graduate of a leading national university and holds a Master's degree from Trinity College, one of the top ranked schools in Ireland. He has been involved in research, teaching and exam preparation for CIE IGCSE, AS/A Level Maths and is proficient in IELTS and Edexcel Maths P1, P2, P3, P4, Statistics and other related courses. His distinct teaching style is much appreciated by his students.

Kiana
Matte lärare

Ms. Kiana is Reach Out Maths Teaching and Research Group Supervisor and a highly qualified graduate in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, specialising in mathematical analysis, higher algebra, analytical geometry, probability and mathematical statistics, introduction to mathematics subject education, computer fundamentals, database application techniques, c language and macro and microeconomics. She has over 5 years of experience in teaching and tutoring mathematics. With a conscientious teaching style and professional teaching approach in one-on-one VIP classes, she enjoys a great popularity among students and many parents.

Herr. Li
Matte lärare

Herr. Li har en magisterexamen från University of Manchester med fyra års erfarenhet av en-till-en IGCSE/IB tvåspråkig undervisning i internationella skolor. Herr. Li är specialiserad på matematik och fysik och har handlett elever från ett antal brittiska/amerikanska internationella skolor och tvåspråkiga skolor i Shanghai, som Wellington, Concordia tvåspråkig, Huili och Yew Chung. Han är mycket bekant med olika internationella skolsystem, läroplaner och prov.

Sharon
Matte lärare

Ms. Sharon has an M.Sc. from Drexel University, studied in the USA for eight years and has extensive experience in teaching mathematics and science in China and the West. She has always had a passion for mathematics and science and is a life-long member of the National Mathematics Honor Society. She has a wealth of international teaching experience and has taught middle school maths, high school algebra, geometry, pre-calculus and AP calculus for many years at international schools. She is currently a teacher at Reach Out Online for both Middle and High School students.

Serena
Matte lärare

Ms. Serena har en examen med 1st utmärkelser i matematik och ekonomi från University of Liverpool, är stipendiat, och fick ett utmärkande betyg i statistik från Imperial College London året därpå. Hon är engagerad i att forska och undervisa i matematik och statistik, och är inte bara mycket skicklig inom sitt eget område, men brinner också för att undervisa i matematik. Ms. Una holds a Master's Degree in Mathematics Education from the University of East Anglia, majoring in mathematics and applied mathematics at undergraduate level and mathematics education at master's level. Ms. Una has professional research experience in the development of mathematics education in China and abroad. She has vast experience in teaching mathematics to foreign students and in mathematics courses such as A-Levels. She has also been involved in the compilation and review of mathematics examination papers for Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
